To support the Finance Director/Manager in overseeing the financial management of the division, including financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role involves managing audits and ensuring full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax and VAT regulations.
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the Finance Director and the Finance manager in driving the annual budgeting, reforecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

Prepare monthly management report by department, comparing actual vs. budget, with brief commentary on major variances.

Review and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to management.

Oversee preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports with variance analysis.

Prepare the monthly closing file, within one week of the month end close. This file should contain schedules for all balances in the balance sheet and major balances in financial income statement and cash flow. Also, this file should highlight all issues and recommend solutions to resolve the issues within the agreed time frame system.

Assist in feasibility studies, business case reviews, and financial modelling for new initiatives or investment decisions.
General Ledger / Project Costing

Supervise day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and corporate accounting policies.

Take ownership of the general ledger and ensure financial integrity across all ledgers and report outputs.

Oversee and support Finance Manager on timely closing of monthly and annual books of accounts.

Ensure that costs are capitalised or expensed as appropriate and charged to the correct cost centre.

Review general ledger and ensure reconciliation of all subsidiary ledgers (AP, AR, FA).

Monitor and manage intercompany transactions and cost allocations across group entities.
Audit & Compliance:

Act as the key point of contact for internal and external audits

Lead the preparation and coordination of audit schedules and documentation.
Taxation & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax and VAT laws.

Review tax returns and support interactions with tax authorities and advisors.
Fixed Assets & Project Costing:

Ensure proper maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register and accurate depreciation accounting.

Review project costs to ensure appropriate capitalization and compliance with cost accounting policies.
Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and automate reporting where feasible.

Lead or support finance system enhancements and implementation projects
Risk Management

Work with the Finance Manager to identify the risks and advise on appropriate responses that are relevant and proportional to the size of the risk, organization and its environment.

Support non-finance colleagues to assess the probability and impact of all organizational risks and to determine appropriate responses.
