Assistant Manager - GIS and Digital Information Solutions

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled technical GIS professional who will play a pivotal role in the deployment, support, and troubleshooting of ArcGIS Enterprise. This position requires a collaborative approach, working intimately with IT and development teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of our GIS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer science or a related field, coupled with substantial practical experience in GIS technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the effectiveness of our geospatial operations through expert management of the ArcGIS platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain the comprehensive suite of ArcGIS Enterprise components, including Portal, Server, Data Store, and Web Adaptor, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve a variety of complex issues alongside relevant teams, focusing on publishing, services, Single Sign-On (SSO), certificates, networking, and overall system performance to maintain high levels of service and user satisfaction.
• Collaborate effectively with IT professionals to manage and optimize server configurations, networks, firewall settings, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), cloud infrastructure, and ensure robust system security protocols are in place.
• Support a variety of basic GIS application development workflows including the use of REST APIs, web maps, custom applications, and integrations, helping to drive innovation and enhance user engagements.
• Manage user support tickets efficiently, maintain comprehensive documentation, and oversee operational monitoring to ensure a smooth and effective user experience across the GIS platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or GIS.
• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture.
• Good understanding of Windows Server, networking, and API basics.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across GIS + IT + application layers.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
