About the Job
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager - Health and Safety to join our Team in Jumeirah Muscat Bay. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
To strategically lead and manage the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction are consistently met. Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping team. Develop and implement strategic housekeeping procedures and standards, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist the HSE Manager in overseeing departmental operations, preparing reports, coordinating with managers, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards across all areas.
Support the development and implementation of the Jumeirah Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSE MS), producing regular performance reports for senior management.
Conduct audits and inspections to monitor compliance with HSE policies and procedures, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Liaise with external contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to manage contracts, services, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Coordinate and deliver HSE training and awareness programs for colleagues, while maintaining accurate documentation and records through DMS and SharePoint.
Manage administrative responsibilities including departmental documentation, procurement of approved items, organizing HSE meetings/conferences, and processing customer satisfaction surveys to improve services.
About you
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management (essential), with a valid UAE Driving License.
5–8 years of experience in the Health, Safety, and Environment field, preferably within the hospitality industry.
University degree and professional certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent (desirable).
Strong technical competencies in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint, with proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to engage diverse groups and drive compliance.
