Assistant Manager Human Resources

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Human Resources to partner with leadership and employees across key HR functions. This role is a perfect blend of operational execution and strategic partnership—you will lead talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while helping shape a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned departments (sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation).
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and create effective hiring strategies.
  • Lead new hire orientation and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition trends to recommend retention strategies.

Performance Management

  • Support the annual performance review cycle, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and appraisals.
  • Guide managers on performance improvement plans (PIPs) and coaching conversations.

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labor laws and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Assist in internal and external HR audits.

HR Operations & Projects

  • Oversee monthly payroll inputs, leave management, and benefits administration.
  • Lead or participate in HR projects (e.g., policy revisions, DEI initiatives, HR system upgrades).

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience (generalist or specialist role).
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree (MBA/MHRM) or HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD).
  • Experience in [industry, e.g., tech, manufacturing, retail, healthcare].
  • Familiarity with recruitment tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed) and ATS software.
