Assistant Manager – IMS & VoLTE Operations

Job Purpose:

Oversee the evolution and operations of the IMS Core network, ensuring resilient, scalable, and cloud-native VoLTE, VoWiFi, and SIP services through architectural innovation and operational excellence.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end IMS architecture including CSCF (P/I/S-CSCF), HSS/UDM, SBC, TAS/AS, MRF, BGCF/MGCF, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and SLA compliance.
  • VoLTE, VoWiFi, SIP Trunking, optimization, and interworking with EPC, 5GC, PCRF, OCS, SMSC, and roaming/interconnect partners.
  • Drive automation initiatives across IMS operations including configuration management, health checks, KPI monitoring, log analysis, and incident correlation to reduce manual intervention
  • Perform advanced SIP/Diameter troubleshooting, ladder diagram analysis, RTP/media flow validation, and performance bottleneck identification.
  • Ensure seamless SRVCC, emergency call routing, roaming interconnect, and inter-RAT handover scenarios.
  • Implementation tasks for IMS expansion projects, software upgrades and patch management in virtualized/cloud-native environments.
  • 100% availability of IMS Core Nodes & Services
  • Provide technical mentorship to IMS engineers and support cross-functional alignment with Core, Transmission, IT, and Commercial teams.
  • Taking preventive & corrective measures for hardware and software to maintain the required availability
  • To perform systems and services routines and health checks for maintaining systems performance and availability
  • Perform highly skilled hardware and software-related tasks and definitions which may include any IMS Core network platform
  • Manage and Monitor all core network platforms and services, their drill-down analysis, escalation, coordination wherever applicable


Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):

Education:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Telecommunications / Electrical / Computer Engineering.


Work Experience:

  • Up to 6–10 years of relevant telecom experience, experience of IMS Core will be preferred.
  • Proven experience in virtualized/NFV or cloud-native IMS deployments will be preferred.


Skills – Job Specific:

  • Strong expertise in IMS architecture and standards
  • Advanced knowledge of SIP, SDP, Diameter, RTP/RTCP, DNS, ENUM.
  • Hands-on experience with major IMS vendors (Huawei, ZTE).
  • Proficiency in signaling and routing mechanisms at all network levels
  • Expert knowledge and practical experience in hardware and software of IMS Core network platforms
  • Understand the standard processes and procedures of IMS Core network activities execution
