Assistant Manager - Industrial Relations & Compliance

The Assistant Manager – Industrial Relations & Compliance will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Manager Industrial Relations in all matters related to industrial relations, labor compliance, statutory obligations, employee relations, and government liaison activities across Achha Foods.

The incumbent will act as a key liaison between the organization and various government departments, including Police, PESSI, EOBI, Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Labor Department, Civil Administration, District Authorities, and other regulatory bodies. The position requires strong networking capabilities, excellent relationship management skills, and a thorough understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations Management

  • Assist the Manager Industrial Relations in implementing the company's industrial relations strategy.
  • Maintain positive relationships between management and employees across all locations.
  • Support the resolution of employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace disputes.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations related to misconduct, policy violations, and employee complaints.
  • Ensure disciplinary actions are administered in accordance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Assist management in handling labor-related issues and maintaining a harmonious work environment.

Government & Regulatory Liaison

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with key officials from:
  • Police Department
  • PESSI
  • EOBI
  • Punjab Food Authority (PFA)
  • Labor Department
  • District Administration
  • Social Security Authorities
  • Other government and regulatory agencies
  • Represent the organization before government departments and regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate inspections, audits, inquiries, and official visits.
  • Manage government correspondence and ensure timely responses to notices and requests.
  • Obtain necessary approvals, permits, registrations, and NOCs as required.

PESSI & EOBI Compliance

  • Ensure timely registration and deregistration of employees with PESSI and EOBI.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and statutory documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections conducted by PESSI and EOBI officials.
  • Handle employee benefit claims and related documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and compliance reports.

Punjab Food Authority Compliance

  • Coordinate with Punjab Food Authority officials regarding inspections and compliance requirements.
  • Support operations in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure timely submission of documentation and corrective actions arising from inspections.
  • Maintain records related to PFA requirements and certifications.

Labor Law Compliance

  • Monitor compliance with all applicable labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Maintain statutory registers, records, and notices as required under applicable laws.
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Industrial Relations Act
  • Factories Act
  • Shops & Establishments Ordinance
  • Standing Orders
  • Minimum Wage Regulations
  • Social Security and EOBI Laws
  • Occupational Health & Safety requirements
  • Keep management informed regarding changes in labor legislation.

Security & External Affairs Coordination

  • Liaise with local police and law enforcement agencies on matters related to company operations.
  • Coordinate employee verification and security-related documentation.
  • Support administration and security teams during emergencies and external investigations.
  • Build positive relationships with local community stakeholders and government representatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain complete records of compliance activities, inspections, audits, and correspondence.
  • Prepare monthly compliance and industrial relations reports for management.
  • Track regulatory deadlines and ensure timely completion of compliance activities.
  • Maintain confidential employee and legal records.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary support resource for government liaison activities.
  • Coordinate with plant, operations, administration, legal, and HR teams on compliance matters.
  • Build and maintain a positive reputation for the organization among regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
