Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Legal Operations is responsible for supporting the Legal Department in managing legal documentation, regulatory compliance, litigation coordination, contract administration, and legal operational processes. The role ensures efficient legal support to business units while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Operations & Administration
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department and ensure efficient workflow management.
- Maintain and administer legal records, contracts, agreements, litigation files, and other legal documentation.
- Monitor legal requests and ensure timely allocation, tracking, and closure.
- Develop and maintain legal databases, document management systems, and reporting tools.
- Ensure proper document retention and archiving in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Contract Management
- Review, track, and maintain contracts, agreements, memoranda, and legal correspondence.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to facilitate contract approvals and execution processes.
- Monitor contract expiry dates, renewal requirements, and obligations.
- Assist in standardizing legal templates and documentation.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the banking sector.
- Support the implementation of regulatory requirements and legal policies.
- Assist in preparing legal reports, regulatory submissions, and management updates.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, and other departments on legal and regulatory matters.
Litigation & External Counsel Management
- Coordinate with external law firms, regulatory authorities, and government entities.
- Maintain litigation and dispute registers and monitor case progress.
- Track legal expenses, invoices, and budgets related to external legal services.
- Assist in preparing case summaries and management reports.
Governance & Reporting
- Prepare periodic legal operational reports, dashboards, and management information.
- Monitor legal department KPIs and service delivery standards.
- Support internal and external audits relating to legal operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance legal service efficiency.
Stakeholder Management
- Provide legal administrative support to business units and management.
- Liaise with internal departments regarding legal documentation and approvals.
- Ensure effective communication between the Legal Department and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in legal operations, contract management, legal administration, or a related function.
- Experience within the banking, financial services, or corporate sector is preferred.
- Knowledge of Qatar laws, banking regulations, and corporate governance practices is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of legal documentation and contract management processes.
- Knowledge of banking and financial services regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and document management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
Pay: QAR15,000.00 - QAR20,000.00 per month
