Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation:

o Design, configure, and implement Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points.
o Develop and maintain High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for network infrastructure.
o Implement and manage VLAN segmentation and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).
o Configure and manage Switch Virtual Interfaces (SVIs).
o Implement and maintain secure tunneling solutions (e.g., IPsec, VPN).
o Design and implement network redundancy and failover solutions.

  • Network Security:

o Deploy and manage open-source firewalls (e.g., pfSense, OPNsense, Kerio).
o Implement and maintain network access control lists (ACLs).
o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
o Ensure network compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations and log management for compliance (e.g., HIPAA).

  • VoIP Management:

o Configure and maintain VoIP systems and infrastructure.
o Troubleshoot VoIP call quality and connectivity issues.
o Optimize network performance for VoIP traffic.

  • Performance Optimization:

o Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks.
o Implement network optimization techniques to improve efficiency and throughput.
o Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues.

  • ISP Management:

o Manage relationships with Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
o Monitor ISP performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
o Troubleshoot ISP-related connectivity issues.

  • Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

o Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related issues.
o Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades.
o Troubleshoot complex network problems and implement effective solutions.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, and network diagrams.
o Generate regular network performance reports.
o Document all network changes and troubleshooting activities.

  • Innovation and Improvement:

o Research and evaluate new networking technologies and solutions.
o Identify opportunities for network optimization and improvement.
o Implement innovative solutions to enhance network performance and security.

  • Compliance:

o Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.
o Perform regular audits to ensure systems are compliant.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a multi-office environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, wireless).
  • Strong experience with open-source firewalls (pfSense, OPNsense, Kerio).
  • Proficiency in VLAN segmentation, STP, SVIs, and tunneling technologies.
  • Experience with VoIP systems and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance optimization tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
