Assistant Manager Operations (LTV Fleet Operations)

The Assistant Manager Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) fleet, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, accurate record management, and optimal driver utilization. The role requires close monitoring of fleet performance, billing processes, driver management, and operational reporting to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

  • Manage and supervise daily fleet operations to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Monitor vehicle utilization and operational efficiency across the LTV fleet.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet transportation requirements and service standards.

Billing & Documentation

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, verification, and submission of customer billing.
  • Maintain proper operational records and supporting documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of:
  • Fuel issuance and consumption
  • Driver attendance and duty rosters
  • Vehicle mileage (kilometers traveled)
  • Vehicle deployment and utilization
  • Generate periodic operational reports and analyze key performance indicators.

Driver Management

  • Ensure adequate driver availability to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage driver scheduling, attendance, and deployment.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate driver training and development programs.
  • Maintain a qualified backup pool of drivers to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency.

Fleet Monitoring & Control

  • Monitor fleet performance using fuel management systems, GPS tracking, and vehicle monitoring tools.
  • Analyze fuel consumption, route efficiency, and vehicle performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate operational discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, cost control, and service quality.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in fleet operations, transportation management, or logistics.
  • Experience managing LTV fleets and driver operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in fleet tracking systems, GPS monitoring, and MS Office applications.
