Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing
- Manage end-to-end payroll for monthly, weekly, and off-cycle runs.
- Validate salary inputs, attendance, overtime, incentives, arrears, and deductions.
- Perform payroll reconciliation and ensure accurate disbursement.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality.
2. Compliance & Statutory Management
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, gratuity, bonus, etc.).
- Prepare and file statutory returns and manage inspections/audits.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and regulatory changes.
3. Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare monthly payroll reports, variance analysis, cost summaries, and audit schedules.
- Support finance with GL postings and payroll accounting.
- Provide data for budgeting and workforce planning.
4. Employee Support
- Address and resolve payroll-related employee queries.
- Handle full & final settlements, leave encashments, and exit payments.
- Coordinate with HR on employee onboarding, transfers, and compensation updates.
5. Systems & Process Improvement : Work with HRIS/Payroll software
6. Team Collaboration
- Mentor junior payroll team members.
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and external auditors/vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, HR, Accounting, or related field.
- 4-7 years of payroll processing experience mandatory
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and statutory laws.
- Proficiency with payroll systems and MS Excel.
