Assistant Manager – Procurement & Logistics

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Procurement & Logistics is responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and logistics operations to ensure timely availability of materials and services at optimal cost. The role supports project execution through effective sourcing, contract compliance, inventory control, and coordination with planning, estimation, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services as per project requirements
  • Source, evaluate, and develop suppliers and vendors
  • Obtain and analyze quotations; prepare comparative statements
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms
  • Issue purchase orders in line with approved budgets and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
  • Maintain supplier performance records and procurement documentation

Logistics

  • Plan and coordinate transportation, delivery, and site logistics
  • Monitor material delivery schedules to meet project timelines
  • Coordinate with warehouses for storage, handling, and inventory control
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery or material-related issues
  • Ensure proper documentation for material receipt and dispatch

Coordination & Control

  • Work closely with Planning, Estimation, Engineering, and Site teams
  • Monitor procurement and logistics costs against budgets
  • Support material planning and procurement schedules
  • Assist in managing claims, shortages, and material returns
  • Prepare procurement and logistics reports for management

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in procurement and logistics
  • Experience in construction / MEP / HVAC / industrial projects preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and logistics operations
  • Good understanding of material planning and inventory control
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
