Assistant Manager –Procurement operations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage end-to-end procurement operations from requisition to delivery
  • Execute sourcing strategies for cost-effective and timely purchasing
  • Handle vendor evaluation, onboarding & performance tracking
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure policy compliance
  • Coordinate with production & warehouse for material planning
  • Monitor purchase orders, deliveries & supplier commitments
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels (avoid shortages/excess)
  • Ensure accurate ERP data and reporting
  • Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
  • Build strong supplier & logistics relationships
  • Resolve procurement and supply-related issues efficiently

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Business / Engineering
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems & advanced Excel
  • Good negotiation, analytical & coordination skills

PREFERRED

  • Experience in switchgear or manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
