Key responsibilities
- Purchasing and negotiation:
- Assist in sourcing and procuring materials, services, and capital goods.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
- Process purchase orders and ensure they are accurately entered into the company's system.
- Inventory management:
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs to ensure optimal inventory control.
- Create and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct stock audits and inventory reconciliations.
- Vendor management:
- Manage and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on cost, quality, service, and delivery.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues with suppliers and internal departments.
- Analysis and strategy:
- Monitor and analyze purchasing trends and market prices to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide support for the development and implementation of procurement policies and strategies.
- Perform cost analyses and evaluate alternative suppliers.
- Operations and compliance:
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Liaise with warehouse staff and other departments to ensure product quality and smooth operations.
