Position Overview

Satay Bistro is seeking an exceptional Assistant Manager / Floor Supervisor to serve as a key operational leader and creative force within our front-of-house team. This role is designed for a seasoned hospitality professional with deep cocktail expertise, strong knowledge of modern spirits, and a genuine passion for culinary-driven dining experiences.

This individual will function as the General Manager’s right hand—leading the floor, elevating service standards, mentoring staff, and helping push the boundaries of what Satay offers its guests. This is a hands-on leadership position rooted in service excellence, accountability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Floor Leadership & Service Execution

  • Actively lead shifts on the floor, ensuring seamless service, pacing, and guest experience.
  • Set the tone for professionalism, hospitality, and execution during service.
  • Troubleshoot guest concerns in real time with composure and discretion.
  • Maintain consistent standards across all service periods, including nights when the GM is not present.

Cocktail, Beverage & Culinary Integration

  • Bring advanced cocktail knowledge and modern spirits expertise to daily operations.
  • Support cocktail development, menu execution, and beverage storytelling.
  • Train and coach staff on spirits knowledge, cocktails, pairings, and upselling with integrity.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure cohesion between food, beverage, and service.

Team Development & Accountability

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for servers, bartenders, and support staff.
  • Reinforce training standards, service steps, and sales knowledge.
  • Hold the team accountable for performance, preparation, and professionalism.
  • Help close performance gaps between different shifts and teams.

Operational Support

  • Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and floor organization.
  • Support inventory awareness and responsible product handling behind the bar.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and safety standards are consistently followed.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the GM to improve systems and service flow.

Creative & Strategic Contribution

  • Actively contribute ideas to elevate the guest experience.
  • Help refine service models, cocktail programs, and hospitality moments.
  • Be invested in the long-term growth and reputation of Satay Bistro.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive cocktail and bartending experience in a quality-driven or craft-focused environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern spirits, classic cocktails, and contemporary techniques.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience on the floor.
  • Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality as a holistic experience.
  • Calm, confident presence in high-volume or high-expectation service.
  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to lead by example and earn respect through performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
