Job Title: Assistant Manager Supply Chain Management

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Supply Chain Management supports the day-to-day operations of the supply chain functions, ensuring that goods are procured, stored, and distributed efficiently and cost-effectively. The position is integral in maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and control stock levels across warehouses, ensuring an optimal balance between supply and demand.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to replenish stock as needed while avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
- Analyze inventory reports and make recommendations for improving inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Support the planning and coordination of the transportation and delivery of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective movement.
- Work with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and transport companies to ensure smooth operations.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Supplier Management:
- Assist in managing relationships with suppliers to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance and work with the team to resolve issues related to quality, lead time, or cost.
- Support the negotiation of contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze supply chain data and generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory levels, order fulfillment, and transportation costs.
- Identify trends and provide actionable insights to the Supply Chain Manager for process improvements.
- Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Assist in developing and maintaining the supply chain budget, ensuring that all activities are within financial constraints.
- Identify and recommend areas for cost savings, including transportation efficiencies and inventory management practices.
- Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Supervise and support a team of supply chain professionals (e.g., warehouse staff, procurement assistants, logistics coordinators).
- Ensure that team members are properly trained and following the established procedures and protocols.
- Foster a collaborative team environment to meet operational goals.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve operational issues related to inventory discrepancies, order fulfillment, and delivery delays.
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., customer service, sales, procurement) to find solutions for any supply chain disruptions.
- Process Improvement:
- Assist in implementing and optimizing supply chain processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and recommend solutions to improve workflow.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement, inventory management, and transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of all supply chain activities, including supplier contracts, inventory levels, and shipment documentation.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
- Experience:
- 3-4 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) for data analysis and reporting.
