Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Assistant Manager – Taxation to manage taxation matters for our construction business. The individual will be responsible for tax compliance, filing, documentation, advisory, and coordination with regulatory authorities. This role requires strong expertise in taxation laws, particularly those related to the construction and real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
· Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns in accordance with statutory requirements.
· Maintain proper tax records and documentation for audits and inspections.
· Assist in tax planning, risk management, and ensuring tax efficiency in construction projects.
· Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants.
· Review contracts and agreements to ensure tax compliance and proper deductions.
· Monitor changes in taxation laws and provide guidance to management on implications.
· Handle tax notices, assessments, appeals, and related correspondence with authorities.
· Support finance team in preparing tax-related financial reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
· Professional certification (CA Inter, ACCA, ICMA, or equivalent) preferred.
· Minimum 6 years of experience in taxation, preferably in construction or real estate industry.
· Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax laws, FBR regulations, and construction-related tax matters.
· Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and MS Office.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
