Assistant Manager Taxation

Lahore, Pakistan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, keeping up-to-date with amendments.
  • Manage tax audits, assessments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Assist in tax planning and advisory to minimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
  • Maintain proper tax records and documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
  • Support finance team in month-end and year-end closing related to tax matters.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and legal advisors for taxation matters.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff regarding tax compliance.
  • Prepare tax-related MIS and management reports for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA, ACCA, ICMA part-qualified preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in taxation (corporate and indirect).
  • Strong knowledge of Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, and Withholding Regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and tax portals (FBR, PRA/SRB, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
