Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and improving the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of all plant, machinery, and facilities. The role ensures minimal downtime, cost-effective repairs, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily maintenance operations (mechanical, electrical, and utilities) to ensure smooth functioning of equipment and facilities.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machinery, utilities, and building facilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance team, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance logs, reports, and documentation.
- Monitor spare parts inventory, raise requisitions, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery/equipment.
- Suggest process improvements and technology upgrades for higher efficiency.
- Support audits and inspections related to maintenance, safety, and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering (or relevant field).
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in manufacturing / process industry.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management software (CMMS is a plus).
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
