About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Assistant Manager – Taxation to join our Finance team. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, managing direct and indirect tax matters, supporting audits, and contributing to effective tax planning. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing of income tax and sales tax returns.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, and other applicable legislation.
- Manage withholding tax compliance, including accurate deductions, deposits, and reconciliations.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external consultants on audits, assessments, and notices.
- Maintain comprehensive tax records, schedules, and reconciliations in line with statutory requirements.
- Assist in tax planning, advisory, and structuring initiatives to optimize efficiency.
- Provide support in financial audits and respond to tax-related queries.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Prepare periodic tax reports and presentations for senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CA / ACCA / ICMA (Part-Qualified or Finalist) or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in corporate taxation and indirect tax.
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws, rules, and regulatory framework.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
