Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
- Master’s degree in business, Engineering, Science, or relevant discipline (MBA, MS, or equivalent preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in technology transfer, R&D commercialization, or industry-academia linkages.
- Experience in a university setting or innovation ecosystem is a plus
Desirable
- Master's in technology management, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, or Intellectual Property
- 4 years of experience in a Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Research/ Innovation & Commercialization Office, or university innovation setup.
- Research-industry liaison
Exposure to national and international innovation ecosystems (e.g., HEC-TDF, Ignite projects).
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Assessment & Market Analysis
- Assist the Manager in identifying and evaluating/ mapping research outputs and innovations with commercialization or licensing potential.
- Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive database of university-generated technologies, including invention details, IP status, and commercialization progress.
Industry & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support outreach to industry partners for technology licensing, co-development, and joint venture opportunities.
- Facilitate and coordinate communication between faculty/researchers and industry stakeholders to promote collaborative technology development and commercialization.
Spin-offs & Consultancy Facilitation
- Assist in the documentation and compliance process for spinoff creation; maintain detailed records of existing spinoffs and track their performance indicators.
- Coordinate faculty consultancy project agreements between university researchers and external clients/end-users in line with institutional policies.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all TTO activities, including project files, agreements, and partner correspondence.
- Assist the Manager in preparing quarterly and annual reports for internal management and external agencies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) and commercialization lifecycle.
- Basic understanding of legal documentation and licensing agreements.
- Knowledge of technology readiness levels (TRLs) and commercialization pathways.
- Ability to analyze business models and market potential of university research.
- Familiarity with innovation platforms (e.g., ORIC portals, IP databases).
- Strong drafting skills for NDAs, and commercialization agreements.
- Capacity to interact with senior faculty, researchers, and industry professionals confidently.

- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply after seeking NOC from their respective parent department / organizations.
