The Division

Perseus, an operating group of Constellation Software Inc., acquires, manages, and builds software businesses that provide specialized, mission-critical software solutions. Perseus companies seek to become leaders in their markets by improving their operations, growing through organic initiatives, and seeking acquisitions that can strengthen their market position.

Role Summary

Required BI and FP&A professional who can bridge finance planning and data engineering/BI . Who can build and maintain forecasting and reporting solutions using SQL, databases, ETL pipelines, Power BI , and MOLAP-style dimensional models/cubes . Who will also help automate model refreshes via APIs , and explore AI-driven forecasting to improve accuracy and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

FP&A & Business Partnering

  • Own and enhance key FP&A deliverables: budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and KPI tracking.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into data models, dashboards, and forecasts.
  • Develop driver-based models (revenue, cost, cash, headcount) and support scenario planning.

Data, Databases & SQL

  • Write and optimize SQL queries (complex joins, CTEs, window functions) to extract and transform finance data.
  • Work with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server/Azure SQL/PostgreSQL) and ensure data integrity and reconciliation to source systems.
  • Design reusable datasets/views for consistent reporting.

ETL (Mandatory) & Automation

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to integrate data from ERP/CRM/banking/operational systems.
  • Implement controls: validation checks, logging, exception handling, and automated scheduling.
  • Document data flows and maintain data dictionaries.

MOLAP / Dimensional Modelling & Cubes

  • Design and maintain dimensional models (facts/dimensions, star schemas) and MOLAP-style cubes.
  • Define hierarchies, attributes, measures, and aggregation strategies to support fast analytical queries.
  • Maintain semantic layers to ensure consistent definitions (e.g., Revenue, Gross Margin, ARR).

BI & Reporting (Power BI)

  • Build executive-ready Power BI dashboards with strong performance, usability, and governance.
  • Implement DAX measures, role-based access, and standardized reporting packs.
  • Optimize refresh performance and dataset modelling best practices.

API Connections & Model Refresh

  • Create API-based integrations to push/pull data and trigger cube/model refreshes.
  • Work with authentication patterns (OAuth, tokens, service principals) and integration monitoring.

AI-Based Forecasting & Modelling

  • Apply AI/ML techniques for forecasting (e.g., time-series, regression, ensemble approaches).
  • Evaluate forecast accuracy, bias, and drift; build explainable insights for finance users.
  • Prototype and productionize forecasting pipelines where appropriate.

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)

  • 3–6 years’ experience in a hybrid FP&A + analytics/data role.
  • Strong FP&A fundamentals: forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, management reporting.
  • Solid experience with databases and SQL (advanced querying and optimization).
  • Strong Power BI capability (data modelling + DAX + performance tuning).
  • ETL experience is mandatory (building pipelines, validation, scheduling, documentation).
  • Experience with dimensional modelling and MOLAP concepts (dimensions, hierarchies, cubes).
  • Experience integrating data via APIs (REST, authentication, automated refresh/update patterns).
  • Strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and ability to communicate financial insights clearly.

Preferred / Nice To Have

  • OneStream experience (implementation, administration, workflows, business rules, cube views).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Factory / SSIS / dbt / Airflow (or equivalents).
  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Jedox, or other OLAP/cube tools.
  • Python/R for modelling, automation, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with finance systems (Dynamics GP/Business Central, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and access controls.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data/Analytics, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus (CIMA/ACCA/CPA, Power BI, Azure, OneStream).
