The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED), Pakistan, invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager/Project Manager, Special Education Needs. Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the faculty, manage the development, review, and continuous improvement of academic offerings in special education, ensuring alignment of programme structure, content, and standards with institutional policies, national regulations, and international benchmarks.
  • Support and coordinate research initiatives by managing logistics, partnerships, and related resources.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with mainstream, inclusive, and special schools, NGOs, parent groups, and government bodies.
  • Organize workshops, training sessions, and community-based activities, including public education campaigns on the topic.
  • Contribute to strategic planning through analysis, needs assessments, and recommendations on programme direction and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Assist in budget development, expenditure monitoring, and resource allocation for relevant programmes and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • At least sixteen years of education, preferably in special education, educational management, psychology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Five to seven years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated involvement in programme development, research, or the delivery of educational services.

Competencies:

  • Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including MS Office and Canva. Familiarity with graphic design will be an advantage.
  • Experience in event management, such as seminars and policy dialogues.
  • Engagement with public education campaigns will be of particular advantage.
