Qualification & Experience:
- BE /BS/ B.Sc.in Computer Sciences from an HEC recognized University with 2 years of experience in the relevant field.
Desirable:
- M.Sc/MS in Computer Sciences from an HEC recognized University with 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Servers & networks switches installation and configuration.·
- Website Management knowledge.
- Biometric Attendance System Management.
- IP Based CCTV Cameras Management.
- Support for Domain, internet and Wi-Fi users.
- Troubleshoot communications issues across network resources.
- Maintain network user administration, file storage and security.
- Assist in the planning, design, documentation and implementation of various systems that include desktop PC's, servers, network equipment and software applications.
- Monitors and maintains the use of the network connected equipment.
- Generate periodic backups of servers for data security.
- Monitors client/server software and service packs.
- Perform on-site and remote technical support to end users.
- Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects. Perform other duties as assigned by IT Manager.
- Configure and install VoIP telephone.
- Installs and tests computers and related network hardware in a LAN/W AN environment.
- Assist the IT Manager in developing and coordinating future network replacement plans.
- Ensuring data is backed up on a regular basis.
- Overseeing computer security and anti-virus updates etc.
- Carrying out client computer maintenance.
- Providing IT support to computer users within the institute .
- First port of call and initial troubleshooting of IT problems and resolving if possible.
- Any other relevant task assigned by head of the institution or reporting officer.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Essential:
- CCNA/ Microsoft Certifications
- Basic understanding of networking concepts(TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Knowledge of network hardware and operating systems
- Installation of different type of servers
- Strong troubleshooting, tracing errors and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools
- Good communication and teamwork abilities

- Office environment with occasional off-hours work for system maintenance.

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Late / incomplete applications will be ignored.
- Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
