Assistant Organizer (Part-Time, On-Site, Some Remote)

Compensation: $35/hour, with possible increase after apprenticeship and based on experience

Schedule: Variable hours, Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM (hours may be inconsistent and unpredictable)

About the Role:

Calm Spaces is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable Assistant Organizer to support in-home organizing projects. This part-time, on-site role involves working directly with clients to sort, declutter, and install organizing systems. Over time, the right candidate will grow into leading organizing projects independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with decluttering, sorting, and setting up organizing systems
  • Label and categorize items for optimal storage
  • Guide clients through the organizing process with patience and professionalism
  • Source and shop for organizing products as needed
  • Haul donations and coordinate with service providers
  • Support move management projects
  • Provide clear and concise reports and updates

Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years experience in a related field (e.g., project management, retail/stockroom management, customer service, nursing, teaching, caregiving, estate management, personal assistant work, or another client-facing helping profession)
  • Reliable access to a private vehicle capable of transporting cargo (such as a sedan, hatchback, crossover, SUV, truck, or van) and willingness to travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including running client errands using your personal vehicle
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work without supervision
  • Comfortable working in homes with allergens such as dust and pet dander, and in garages, attics, basements, and storage spaces in hot weather
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy items and be moving around on your feet for up to 8 hours a day. The job is physically demanding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with ADHD, neurodivergent, and disabled people
  • Ability to do limited administrative work remotely
  • Familiarity with Google products (Docs, Sheets, GMail, Drive, and Calendar)
  • College degree in a related field
  • Full-time or near full-time availability during the weekdays
  • Professional organizing experience. Note: This position will require you to sign a non-compete agreement. Professional organizers who wish to continue working with their own clients or with another organizing business should not apply.
