Assistant Planner/Designer

This is a temporary to permanent position.

As an Assistant Planner, your primary responsibility will be to verify building measurements and existing conditions and then translate that information into accurate as-built drawings using AutoCAD 2026. These drawings serve as critical documentation for our records and leasing purposes.

Below are the key duties and qualifications for this role:

Duties & Responsibilities:

1 )On-site Verification:

• Visit properties and existing buildings to verify measurements and assess as-built conditions.
• Photograph the building's interior and exterior extensively for our records and reference.
• Dependable transportation required.

2) Drawing Creation:

• Utilize AutoCAD software to create detailed as-built drawings. This includes noting Floor Plans with as-built utility information and creating as-built Reflected Ceiling Plans when required.
• Incorporate precise measurements, calculations, and details into the drawings.
• Ensure accuracy by cross-referencing field measurements with existing architectural plans.

3) Collaboration:

• Work closely with in-house Planners to determine requirements.
• Communicate effectively to ensure accurate representation of existing conditions
• Ability to revise drawings per redline comments

Qualifications:

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or interior design

Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop, and Matterport are a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to produce drawings in a timely manner/ good time management skills
• Self-motivated
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Familiarity with construction terminology and systems
• Microsoft Suite/Teams/CoPilot
• Adobe basics

Experience:

• Prior experience creating building plans in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and spatial relationships
• Prior experience creating 3D models in Revit or Sketchup is a plus
• Knowledge of BOMA standards for Retail, Office, and Industrial buildings is a plus

Pay: $52,858.89 - $63,658.02 per year
