Saint Ignatius College Prep is a Catholic, Jesuit, urban, co-educational, college preparatory high school with 1,450 students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1869, the mission of the school is to prepare its diverse population of students for lives grounded in faith and characterized by integrity, lifelong learning, leadership, and compassionate service for others.
The Assistant Prefect for Academic Programs and Support provides leadership, supervision, and evaluation interventions in collaboration with the Prefect of Studies to ensure that the school lives up to its mission of developing its talented students for lives of faith, love, service and leadership through outstanding teaching and personal formation.

Job Summary

Design, implement, and coordinate the professional development of faculty
-
Assist with designing, implementing, and coordinating the comprehensive evaluation of faculty, including classroom observations
-
Oversee all Summer Programs (Remediation, Credit-Earning, Advancement, Incoming Freshman, Junior High, Pack Camps, Athletic Camps, Co-Curricular Camps); continue to build Summer Programs to include younger students and new programs

Manage the alumni internship program

Oversee the school's iPad management program, including communication about and distribution of iPads

Coordinate the administration of the Student Perception Surveys
-
Research and implement innovative academic school programs, and present findings to school officers

Assist with collecting and evaluating data that helps assess how well students are achieving school-wide student performance goals, as well as course and departmental outcomes

Assist in the selection of Department Chairs

Plan and supervise Mini-Class Night and Parent-Teacher Conferences

Manage test preparation partnerships, including Ray Dass

Manage the Writing Center
-
Manage the Math Resource Center
-
Supervise the Director of the Library and coordinate the school's master book list

Teach one section of Freshman Advisory

Oversee school sponsorship and accreditation processes

Participate, as appropriate, in JSN and other professional development programs

Coordinate the school's participation in JSN and other professional development programs
-
Serve on the Admissions Committee to make decisions regarding freshman admissions and transfer students

Assist in the recruiting and hiring of teachers and other staff
-
Coordinate revisions of the Faculty Handbook and Administration and Staff Handbook in cooperation with the Assistant Prefect for Mission and the Director of Human Resources and other administrators

Supervise and attend after-school and weekend activities, as assigned

All other duties, as assigned
Qualifications

Evidence of ability and commitment to furthering the Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity of the school

Evidence of strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills

Teaching or school counseling, administrative, and supervisory experience
-
Master's Degree in leadership or supervision and an IL Professional Educator's License (PEL) in administration (or equivalent out-of state-license) - must be earned within two years, if not held at the date of hiring

Practicing Roman Catholic, preferred
