The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the classroom teacher with the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and the children. Work is performed under the direction/supervision of the teacher.

Qualifications

  • The teacher’s aide will be a Christian and be an active member of a Bible teaching church.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children.
  • All requirements of the licensing agency.
  • First Aide and CPR trained (do not need this to start – will take training once hired)

Responsibilities

  • Teaching
  • Engages children in age appropriate, educational, fun, and creative activities.
  • Assists with planning and implementing center-wide events.
  • Assists with preparation and implementation of classroom lesson plans, organization, and schedule.
  • Teaches the learning activities in a Christian, loving, and caring atmosphere.
  • Assists children with physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Provides a safe, attractive environment for children.
  • Treats each child as an individual with individual needs and experiences.
  • Brings to the attention of the teacher children’s behaviors and classroom issues
  • Assists and supervises children during all activities.

Classroom

  • Helps ensure that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained.
  • Attends and participates in center events and parent meetings as requested.
  • Abides by established staff and center policies.
  • Assists children with meal times and clean-up.
  • Familiar with all emergency procedures.
  • Knows of allergies and medical issues of children.

Other

  • Maintains confidentiality of day care, children and families’, co-workers’, and church issues.
  • Treats clients, co-workers and the public in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.
  • Maintains open communication with the parents while maintaining accountability with the teacher.
  • Avoids participating in gossip
  • Attends all staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Reports to:

Teacher- First, Director/Assistant Director – Second, if necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $13.73 per hour
