Assistant Preschool Teacher

I. Function to provide preschool education and childcare which in turn enhances and strengthens society. Recognize the importance of everyone and display a high degree of empathy and respect for others. Maintain close relationships with one another, the children and families, and the community, by sharing our time and our resources with those in need.

II. Educational Requirements

• Meet all state licensing qualifications (5101:2-12-27)
• CPL 2

III. Physical Requirements

A. Lifting and carrying children that may weigh 10- 70lbs.

B. Stand up to 90% of the day while supervising the safety of the children

IV. Job Requirements

A. Support and implement Small Hands Big Dreams /Color Our Rainbow Academy Educational philosophy of learning through play.

B. Support and follow all policies and procedures of Small Hands Big Dreams/Color Our Rainbow Academy

C. Understand and implement Centers educational curriculum

D. Plan activities that are age and developmentally appropriate and that will support

growth for each child emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually.

E. Manage and maintain his/her classroom

F. Able to adapt to the needs of the Center; be flexible

G. Provide a safe, clean, loving, warm and caring environment

H. Maintain open communication between parents and other employees

I. Work in direct conjunction with the lead teacher to attain the same class goals

J. Support and follow company CORE Values

V. Additional Responsibilities

A. Complete and maintain all paper work for employee file

B. Be a team player

C. Attend all staff meetings and Center functions

D. Other duties as assigned

E. Maintain Professional Development hours
