Assistant Principal Academic Year 2026/2027 Al Shohub British School

Aldar Education are currently seeking an Assistant Principal (Academic year 2026/2027) for Al Shohub Private School to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE.

Al Shohub Private School is a British curriculum school, part of Aldar Schools, offering mixed gender primary education located in a purpose built educational facility at Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. The school was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi. The majority of our students are Emiratis, and the school is rooted in the values of the Emirati community, guided by the requirements of our regulatory body, ADEK.

Responsibilities

• Direct and quality assure the activities of staff and students and ensure a safe, orderly, and smooth functioning environment conducive to learning.
• Support and administer the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule, working in conjunction with the school SLT and department leaders.
• Implement student achievement improvement efforts as mapped out in the school development plan and ADEK regulations and as directed by Aldar Education, including school improvement plans, standardized testing, remediation, data collection and reporting, and the development of special schedules and testing procedures as necessary.
• Direct the MAP/Exact Path student achievement plan, develop a progress based testing schedule with the assessment coordination, and oversee assessment and reporting processes, data collection, student records, and archiving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or B.Sc. degree with PGCE - essential.
• Desirable Master's degree.

Minimum Experience

• At least 6 years of experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching with performance exceeding standards and expectations as evidenced by performance appraisal.
• At least 2 years in a middle leadership role.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

• Secure knowledge of teaching and learning and a track record of implementing strategies to raise standards and address learning gaps.
• Ability to work with data and effectively diagnose, intervene, and evaluate impact on learning.
