Assistant Process Manager – Al Safi Danone (ASD)
Location: Al Kharj
Department: Manufacturing – Processing
Role Summary
The Assistant Process Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the Processing Cell teams to ensure the factory consistently delivers high-quality products at the right cost and on time. The role oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with GMP, PRP, and ASD standards, and manages stock accuracy, shift coordination, and operational reporting. It also focuses on achieving SQCDME KPIs, driving Optimus and best manufacturing practices, and developing a high-performing team through coaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Daily Operations
• Implement the day-to-day operations assigned to his area to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures, and ensure housekeeping is respected (GMP & PRP standards).
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, taking into account international best practices, business process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
• Prepare reports for his area in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.
• Ensure process orders are fulfilled in the most efficient way, without interruptions, delays,stress.
• Determine the manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
• Ensure monthly, weekly, and daily stock counts are executed using a structured methodology, with reconciliation carried out, justified, and reported.
• Lead root cause analysis of defects and non-conformances and apply corrective actions to improve operations processes and stock accuracy.
• Report the daily stock report to Materials Planning as per the agreed cut-off time.
Labor Scheduling and Organization
• Schedule shifts according to production needs.
• Ensure vacations and holidays are anticipated and planned so production is guaranteed.
• Revisit production priorities on a continuous basis to optimize efficiency and service level/maintenance programs.
• Summarize all activities and production status to the following shift operator for proper handover as part of FDS.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
• Lead the FDS process for the cell (daily, shift-based, etc.).
• Ensure the right KPIs have been determined and are in place at all levels of the organization, particularly for operators on the floor.
• Ensure Short Interval Management principles are applied by all First Line Managers (FLMs).
• Ensure continuous improvement initiatives are being conducted throughout the department (zoning, 5S, problem solving, etc.).
• Ensure the appropriate maintenance programs and resources are in place.
Quality – Sanitation
• Ensure all important instructions are turned into SOPs workable on the floor.
• Ensure inspections are carried out as required, particularly the Dairy Preventive Maintenance programs, to ensure proper operating equipment and prevent micro contaminations and the risk of foreign objects.
• Ensure defects in products or processes are identified, analyzed, and corrective actions are in place, so they do not reoccur.
Safety, Quality & Environment
• Report near misses and safety risks on time through safety tags.
• Ensure LOTO application during troubleshooting, plant activities for routine and non-routine tasks.
• Respect, maintain, and follow GMP, personal hygiene, housekeeping, equipment cleaning, floor cleaning, zoning, and 5S on a daily basis.
• Adhere to all food safety system standards.
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement
• Take part in the operational excellence program with implemented ideas to achieve world-class manufacturing through productivity, people engagement, working environment improvements, growth, and quality ideas.
Policies, Processes & Procedures
• Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe manner and with good quality as per the specified standards mentioned in the SOP.
Reporting
• Ensure that all departmental reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner and meet company and department requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
