Position: Assistant Production Manager
Lotus Seattle Corp. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to support the daily operations of the Production Department within a fast-paced broadcast radio environment. This role assists with the coordination, scheduling, creation, and delivery of commercial production, station imaging, promotional audio, and other broadcast content across multiple stations and digital platforms.
The Assistant Production Manager works closely with Programming, Sales, Traffic, Promotions, and On-Air staff to ensure all production elements are completed accurately, creatively, and on schedule while maintaining Lotus Seattle Corp. quality standards and FCC compliance requirements.
This position requires strong audio production skills, creativity, technical proficiency, and the ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic broadcasting environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Production Operations
Assist in overseeing the daily workflow of the Production Department.
Coordinate commercial production requests and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Produce, edit, and finalize audio content including:
Commercial advertisements
Station promos
Imaging and branding elements
Sponsorship tags
Public service announcements
Podcasts and digital audio content
Maintain production schedules and communicate deadlines with internal departments.
Review audio content for accuracy, quality, and broadcast readiness prior to airing.
Assist in prioritizing production assignments based on operational and sales needs.
Broadcast & Technical Support
Operate digital audio workstations and production software including Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, RCS Zetta, and/or similar platforms.
Troubleshoot basic audio and production equipment issues.
Ensure audio files are properly formatted, archived, uploaded, and distributed to appropriate systems.
Coordinate with Engineering and Operations staff regarding technical matters affecting production.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Sales staff and Account Executives to obtain production instructions and copy requirements.
Coordinate with Programming and On-Air talent regarding production schedules and creative needs.
Assist in training and supporting production assistants, interns, part-time staff, or voice talent as assigned.
Provide production support for station promotions, remotes, contests, and special events.
Compliance & Administrative Duties
Maintain organized production records and audio archives.
Ensure all production content complies with FCC regulations, copyright requirements, and company policies.
Monitor production workflow systems for completeness and accuracy.
Support departmental procedures and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in radio, broadcast, or audio production preferred.
Strong proficiency with audio editing and production software.
Working knowledge of radio automation systems and broadcast operations preferred.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and production quality
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Audio Production, or related field preferred.
Previous broadcast radio experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and work at a computer/audio workstation for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment or materials up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Professional broadcast radio station and office environment.
Fast-paced atmosphere with multiple competing deadlines.
Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on station operations, promotions, live broadcasts, or special events.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour
