Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the Heart Center at Manning Family Children’s in New Orleans is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to primarily serve in and anchor its base of operations in the Northshore suburbs of New Orleans (Covington, Mandeville). Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) and will be determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. The candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology, with a strong interest in General Cardiology.

Primary responsibilities will be outpatient cardiology and echocardiography interpretation on the Northshore of New Orleans as well as our satellite clinics in Mississippi. Additional duties will be serving as an attending physician periodically on the Cardiology Inpatient Service as well as the Echocardiography Laboratory at Manning Family Children’s in New Orleans.

The selected candidate will be actively involved in medical education, including the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. Our ACGME-accredited fellowship program currently supports two fellows per year.

This role offers a dynamic blend of clinical practice and academic engagement within a collaborative and supportive environment. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and enthusiastic about contributing to a growing program and committed to delivering exceptional patient care while advancing academic cardiology.

Other Information About the Position

The Heart Center Faculty includes a team of 17 full time pediatric cardiologists including subspecialty expertise in Pediatric and Fetal Cardiovascular Imaging, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Intensive Care, and Adult Congenital Cardiology. Heart Center staff also include 2 accomplished CV surgeons. Additional subspecialty care within the Heart Center includes expertise in Fontan management, home-monitoring, neurodevelopment, pulmonary hypertension, pediatric coronary artery disease, preventive cardiology and heart failure. The Heart Center is proud to be part of the only free-standing quaternary care Children’s Hospital in Louisiana and the top academic heart program in the state.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: MD or equivalent

Other Education if applicable: Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology

Certifications or Licenses Required: BC/BE (or equivalent) in Pediatric Cardiology; Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before start date.
