Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for talented Assistant Project Manager to join our award-winning team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

This position is responsible for supporting the Project Manager with the day to day operational and tactical aspects of the project(s), including such aspects as the establishment of the project delivery strategy, planning, administration, schedule and cost control, project reporting, design reviews for completeness and constructibility, management and coordination of all parties involved.

We envisage success in this role to include:
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and finalization of design projects for large-scale infrastructure, ensuring alignment with project goals, budget, and timelines.
  • Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day coordination of project activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and drafting meeting minutes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a key liaison between various design teams (e.g., roads, wet utilities, dry utilities, smart city) to ensure seamless communication and integration of design elements.
  • Help prepare and review project reports, progress updates, and presentations for clients, regulatory authorities, and senior management.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against the project plan, identifying potential risks and issues and proposing proactive solutions.
  • Support in the preparation of project proposals, including scope definition, resource allocation, and cost estimation.
  • Assist in managing project documentation, ensuring all files, records, and correspondence are accurately maintained and accessible.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and government agencies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and workshops, helping to manage client expectations and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality control procedures to ensure all design deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Facilitate the procurement process for project-related services and materials, including drafting RFPs and evaluating vendor proposals.
  • Support the financial administration of the project, including tracking expenses and assisting with invoicing and budget forecasting.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest engineering design practices, technologies, and smart city innovations relevant to our projects in the GCC.
  • Assist in the resolution of design conflicts and technical challenges, working collaboratively with the engineering teams to find efficient and effective solutions.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 8 + years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), Master's is preferable.

Furthermore, you should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in the design of various infrastructure assets (Roads, Wet or Dry Utilities).
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects in parallel
  • Experience in the GCC and an understanding of approval processes
