Assistant Project Manager

H&K Electric is a fast-growing electrical contractor with 90+ employees and active commercial and industrial projects across Northeast Texas and the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Managers by handling documentation, purchasing, coordination, and administrative project tasks that keep jobs organized, on schedule, and profitable.

This role is ideal for someone with construction or electrical office experience who is looking to grow into a Project Manager role over time.

What You’ll Do

Project Documentation & Coordination

• Prepare, submit, and track project submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, as-builts, and product data
• Maintain accurate and complete project files and documentation
• Track and update project logs including RFIs, submittals, and change orders

Purchasing & Material Management

• Assist with ordering materials and equipment
• Track deliveries and coordinate with vendors to support project schedules

Project Support

• Support Project Managers with job setup, billing support, and project close-out
• Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Walk job sites as needed to support project coordination and documentation

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction, electrical, or project coordination
• Strong understanding of submittals, RFIs, and material procurement
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in electrical construction
• Familiarity with Procore, ServiceTitan, Bluebeam, or similar construction software
• Desire to grow into a Project Manager role
