Assistant Property Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our property management team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assisting in property leasing, maintenance coordination, and administrative tasks with a strong emphasis on reducing delinquency to ensure the smooth running of the property.

Duties

  • Assist in managing property leasing processes, including marketing available units and conducting property tours.
  • Reduce the property's overall delinquency to less than 3% and enforce timely rent collections.
  • Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions, lease agreements, and property maintenance requests using Yardi or similar property management software.
  • Complete all residential lease renewals and work through the entire process.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address tenant concerns and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Provide excellent phone etiquette while handling inquiries from prospective tenants and current residents.
  • Support the implementation of legal administrative tasks related to tenant relations and compliance with housing regulations.
  • Engage in upselling strategies to promote additional services or upgrades to tenants.
  • Assist with affordable housing applications, renewals, and compliance requirements as needed.
  • Collaborate with the property management team to ensure high levels of tenant satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as assistant property manager in property management, which a strong emphasis on delinquency and leasing is required.
  • Knowledge of property leasing processes and legal requirements related to tenancy.
  • Familiarity with Appfolio or similar property management software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in phone etiquette and customer service best practices.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and conflict resolution.
