Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our multifamily housing team. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing leasing activities, including property tours, tenant screening, and lease signing, with a focus on upselling available units and amenities
- Support rent collection processes, including data entry, filing of financial documents, and resolving payment issues in accordance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines
- Coordinate property maintenance requests by liaising with vendors and facilities management teams to ensure timely resolution and tenant satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; perform regular data entry and filing to ensure compliance and easy retrieval of information
- Conduct regular property inspections to monitor property conditions, enforce lease agreements, and uphold legal administrative standards related to landlord-tenant law
- Assist in marketing efforts by promoting available units through customer relationship management (CRM) tools and engaging prospective tenants via phone etiquette and sales techniques
- Support conflict management efforts by addressing resident concerns promptly and professionally while adhering to Fair Housing regulations and contractual obligations
Experience
- Prior experience in real estate administrative roles or property management is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, and Fair Housing regulations
- Proficiency with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, contracts, legal administrative procedures, and facilities management practices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict resolution effectively using negotiation techniques
- Office experience involving data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
