Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our multifamily housing team. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing leasing activities, including property tours, application processing, and lease signing, with a focus on upselling available units and amenities.
- Support rent collection efforts through data entry, payment processing, and follow-up on overdue accounts, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests by communicating with vendors and maintenance staff to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
- Maintain comprehensive records of leasing documents, legal agreements, contracts, and resident files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant laws, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) guidelines, and Section 8 program rules.
- Conduct regular property inspections to monitor property condition, safety standards, and adherence to facilities management protocols.
- Handle customer service inquiries professionally via phone or in person, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining positive resident relationships.
- Support the property management team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry into Yardi Voyager 7/8 and RentCafe, and preparing reports for management review.
- Assist in conflict management by mediating resident concerns or disputes with professionalism and tact.
- Contribute to marketing efforts through engaging property tours and effective communication of leasing benefits to prospective residents.
Experience
- Proven experience in real estate administration or property management support roles within multifamily housing environments.
- Familiarity with Yardi Voyager 7/8 and RentCafe property management software is required.
- Strong customer service skills combined with excellent phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities.
- Office experience involving data entry, filing systems, CRM, and general administrative tasks.
