About the role
The Assistant – PRT supports the primary classroom teacher in delivering engaging, student-centered learning experiences for children in Grades 1–5. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, classroom management, and administrative tasks to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. The Assistant collaborates with teachers and staff to uphold the school’s mission and international standards of education.
What you will be doing
1.Assist the class teacher in preparing and organizing learning materials, resources, and displays.
2.Support students during lessons, group activities, and independent work.
3.Reinforce learning concepts introduced by the teacher through additional guidance and practice.
4.Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and curiosity.
5.Supervise students during classroom activities, playtime, transitions, and lunch breaks.
6.Always ensure student safety and well being, following the school’s safeguarding and health protocols.
7.Provide individualized attention to students who may need extra support academically or emotionally.
8.Encourage appropriate social behavior and help resolve minor conflicts among students.
9.Assist in grading, record-keeping, and documentation as directed by the class teacher.
10.Prepare teaching aids, materials, and technology-based resources for classroom use.
11.Support classroom projects, field trips, assemblies, and school events.
12.Maintain classroom supplies and ensure resources are well organized and ready for use.
13.Work collaboratively with teachers, coordinators, and support staff to ensure effective classroom management and smooth daily routines.
14.Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events when required.
15.Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
16.Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
Who we are looking for:
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Early Childhood or Primary Education preferred).
Teacher training or certification is an advantage.
Experience:
1–3 years of experience working in a classroom or educational setting, preferably in an international or multicultural school.
Skills:
1.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2.Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
3.Basic computer literacy and familiarity with digital learning tools.
4.Ability to follow teacher instructions and contribute proactively to classroom activities.
