Assistant Purchasing Manager

Support Procurement Operations:
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in daily procurement activities.
  • Help coordinate purchasing procedures and procurement strategies.
Supplier Management:
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, follow up on orders, and resolve issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Evaluate and compare supplier performance and pricing.
Inventory & Order Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without over-purchasing.
  • Assist in placing and tracking purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams for incoming goods.
Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, including invoices, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements in procurement processes.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and budget control.
  • Assist in analyzing purchasing trends to find cost-saving opportunities.
Market Research:
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing changes, and new suppliers.
  • Provide recommendations for alternative sourcing options.
Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other departments like finance, operations, and production to align purchasing needs with business goals.
  • Help train and supervise junior purchasing staff, if applicable.
Report Generation:
Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost analysis, and supplier performance for management review.
