Assistant Resident Engineer

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the day-to-day site supervision of construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance and progress, and report any deviations or delays.
  • Coordinate with other consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and ensure timely approvals.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
  • Ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, logs, and documentation related to site activities.
  • Assist in resolving technical and construction issues on-site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with consultancy firms.
  • Strong background in supervising high-rise buildings and large-scale developments.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes of practice.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management software.
  • UAE experience and knowledge of local authority requirements is an advantage.
  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., ICE, ASCE) is a plus.
