Your mission
As Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (Cable) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and monitoring the execution of high-voltage underground cable projects (400kV / 220kV / 132kV). You will ensure construction activities are carried out in line with approved designs, drawings, and safety requirements, while supporting inspections, testing, and project handover.

Your key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in day-to-day supervision of underground cable works.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with drawings and approved method statements.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and related documentation.
• Attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor and witness site activities, including installation and testing.
• Support the Resident Engineer in resolving technical issues and ensuring project quality.
• Assist in the final inspection, completion certification, and handover of works.
• Ensure proper implementation of HSE requirements on site.

Your qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering projects in the UAE, including cable works.

• Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage underground cable systems (400kV / 220kV / 132kV).
• Experienced in site supervision, contractor coordination, and quality control.
• Familiar with UAE authority and utility requirements.

Your soft skills

• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-driven.
• Ability to work in multicultural project environments.

Preference

• Prior experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities will be highly preferred.
