We are looking for an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer who manages all the construction activities relevant to facilities related to the metro development project like the depot facilities and ancillary buildings and related infrastructure.
As Assistant Resident Engineer, he/she will work as a key member of the PMC team to manage the work of the main contractors and any subconsultants involved.
The Assistant Resident Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the construction meets project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

Oversee the day-to-day management and execution of construction activities.

Administer contract in the capacity of Engineer's Representative. Monitor project progress and document changes in scope.

Supervise the site construction team and ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams to resolve any technical issues and provide solutions that align with the project objectives.

Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.

Coordinate with the other discipline REs to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall construction.

Review and recommend approval change orders, notifying relevant personnel of changes.

Monitor the progress of construction works and ensure that any delays, disruptions, or risks are promptly identified and mitigated.

Ensuring all health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to during the construction process.

Review construction activities to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality is acceptable and in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

Manage a team of Site Engineers and Inspectors and conduct regular site inspections.

Ensure the resolution of technical issues in a timely manner and escalate critical concerns to senior management.

Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the facilities and associated works including the site engineers, the work inspectors and the surveyors.

Prepare and submit regular progress reports, site diaries, and meeting minutes for project stakeholders.

Review and approve contractor payments, change orders, and variations.
-
Manage the interface between the construction team and other stakeholders, including local authorities and third-party service providers.

Coordinate and oversee the commissioning and handover processes for all related facilities.

Coordinate with Client, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.

Mange the Client's expectation and update the progress periodically.

Advise on contractual and construction matters regarding all related facilities and associated works.

Convene and chair regular site meetings about issues related to work and related activities.

Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
-
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
-
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.

Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Construction Director, and the Project Safety Representative.

Report back as necessary to the Construction Director.

NOC processing and issuance.
-
Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings in the area of his discipline.

Participate in contract administration.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum 15 - 18 years post graduate experience in Railway, Metro or similar projects.

In-depth knowledge of local construction regulations and safety standards in the UAE.
-
Previous experience working on metro/rail projects or large-scale transportation infrastructure projects is essential.
-
Metro project experience will take a strong focus.

Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of NOC procedures, commissioning, and Dubai government authority specifications and procedures.

Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and liaising with various stakeholders.
