Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer - Landscape Architect to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide support to senior staff concerning all landscape related issues

  • Reviews landscape shop drawings and responding to RFI’s and other related client / contractors’ queries.

  • Review Mockups and ensure sample presentations are adequate as required

  • Reviews Material & work inspection requests related to landscaping works.

  • Supervises the landscaping construction ensuring the intended design is delivered in the best quality while conducting interval site visits.

  • Prepares value engineering and design enhancement proposals to the client.

  • Reviews Landscape manuals (O & M).

  • Identifies and documents changes in scope.

  • Determines the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the contract and monitor progress. Interfaces with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors.

  • Attend weekly / monthly meetings as necessary with specific regard to landscape and issues.

  • Review work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality is acceptable.

  • Provide landscape input to weekly / monthly reports.

  • Liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of landscape assets on completion of works.

  • Ensures client criteria and scope are met by the contractor.

  • Ensure the timely review of all documents submitted by the contractor such as technical drawings and material selection.

  • Participate in all site safety training and comply with all site safety protocols.

  • Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the RE to issue site instructions or respond to RFI for landscaping and associated items.

  • Check and measure the performed work in his/her line of work, record and help the Resident Engineer to display progress vs programmed work.

  • Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his/her line of work.

  • Reviews and approves change orders. Notifies project management and other affected personnel of all changes.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, or related field

  • Minimum 8+ years’ overall experience in all aspects of landscape supervision on major landscape projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years UAE. Abu Dhabi experience is preferred. Exposure to DMT / ADM project is also preferred, especially with Parks experience.

  • Must be knowledgeable of current landscape practices and how to best implement it on the project.

  • Must have a sound knowledge of horticultural practice with specific regard to the implementation of large-scale hard and soft landscape works common to the Gulf region.

  • Must be computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.

  • Technical skills and efficiencies in both standard and specialist computer programs such as Autocad, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Create Suite, Land FX, and MS office suite programs.

  • Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with a good capability in written technical skills to produce daily/weekly reports.

  • Experience in Middle East and UAE is a must.

  • Knowledge of LEED and ESTIDAMA principles.

  • Possess a strong commitment to quality control for design and technical issues.

  • Possess strong communication skills with both internal and external parties.

  • A willingness to develop and further landscape architecture skills and techniques for the enhancement and efficiency of the team.

  • Demonstrate a team oriented and collaborative approach to Landscape Architecture within the design team.

  • An understanding of the design aesthetic and technical components of landscape architecture.

  • Must be knowledgeable of current landscape practices and how to best implement it on the project.

  • Must have a sound knowledge of horticultural practice with specific regard to the implementation of large-scale hard and soft landscape works common to the Gulf region.
