Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Sales Manager to join our dynamic retail team. In this pivotal role, you will support the store’s sales operations, lead a team of sales associates, and ensure exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations, including overseeing sales activities and ensuring smooth shift transitions.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise sales staff to achieve individual and team sales targets while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Implement effective merchandising strategies and ensure proper stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills in customer service, POS systems, inventory management, and product knowledge.
  • Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, utilizing excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to resolve issues promptly.
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control, assist with purchasing decisions, and oversee stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with management on budgeting, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and retail math analysis to optimize store performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies on safety, security, and store cleanliness while supervising overall store management duties.

Skills

  • Proven experience in assistant management roles within retail environments with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent communication abilities for effective team leadership and customer engagement.
  • Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
  • Expertise in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development to build high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling procedures.
  • Solid understanding of retail math including pricing strategies, sales management techniques, and budgeting processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff across shifts while managing time efficiently.
  • Knowledge of merchandising practices such as stocking, product placement, promotional displays, and inventory control.
  • Strong organizational skills paired with attention to detail for administrative tasks like record keeping and store audits.
