Assistant Sales Manager Freight Forwarding

India

Role Summary:

The Assistant Sales Manager will support business development activities and client acquisition in the freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of logistics services, a proven track record in sales, and the ability to contribute to the company's growth in the Pune market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities in air, sea, and road freight services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, and key clients
  • Identify client requirements and propose customized logistics solutions
  • Work closely with operations and pricing teams to deliver competitive and accurate proposals
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as per the company’s growth plan
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis
  • Stay updated with freight market trends, competitors, and pricing strategies
  • Represent the company in client meetings, trade shows, and industry events

Candidate Requirements:

  • Graduate in any stream (BBA/MBA preferred)
  • 3–6 years of experience in sales within the freight forwarding/logistics industry
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, INCOTERMS, and documentation
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and manage accounts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-handling skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong local network in the Pune logistics and shipping ecosystem is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Freight Forwarding: 3 years (Required)
  • Logistics: 3 years (Required)
