<Role Overview>

We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Assistant Store Manager who wants to help shape the next stage of growth for an independent sustainable retail concept.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is excited about driving sales performance
  • Understands conversion, AOV, and sell-through
  • Thinks proactively about product placement and loves storytelling
  • Wants to grow with a mission-driven business

You will work directly with the Manager to translate brand direction into measurable revenue growth. High performance in this role can lead to expanded leadership opportunities as the business grows.

<Key Responsibilities>

1. Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Lead daily floor execution and drive measurable sales performance
  • Implement strategies to meet and exceed internal sales goals
  • Increase conversion and AOV through proactive styling and customer engagement

2. Visual Merchandising & Sell-Through Support

  • Execute merchandising updates aligned with sales priorities
  • Monitor product performance and adjust floor placement accordingly
  • Maintain elevated, outfit-driven displays that support conversion

3. Inventory Management & E-commerce Accuracy

  • Maintain accurate inventory across POS and Shopify
  • Oversee receiving, replenishment, and stock flow organization
  • Support e-commerce product uploads, pricing accuracy, and stock updates

4. Team Leadership & Floor Accountability

  • Coach associates on selling behaviors and product storytelling
  • Reinforce service standards and performance expectations
  • Support a positive, performance-driven team culture

5. Reporting & Business Support

  • Track weekly performance metrics and share actionable insights
  • Support community events and in-store activations
  • Assist in identifying potential community partnerships that drive traffic and sales

<Qualifications>

  • 2+ years of retail leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies, inventory management, and sales performance metrics (conversion, AOV, sell-through)
  • Experience with Shopify or other POS/e-commerce platforms preferred
  • Effective communication skills for training staff, managing customer interactions, and team coordination
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative and ownership
  • Strong organizational and operational skills
  • Passion for sustainable fashion, emerging brands, and community-driven retail
  • Comfortable being accountable to measurable goals

Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate plus structured monthly performance bonuses and team-based sales incentives.
