The Assistant Storekeeper supports the efficient operation of the store by assisting in receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of food, beverages, and related supplies. The role ensures proper stock handling in compliance with hygiene, safety, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in receiving deliveries and verify items against purchase orders and invoices
- Inspect goods for quality, quantity, and expiry dates (especially perishable items)
- Ensure proper storage of items as per FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas in line with food safety standards
- Support stock issuance to kitchen and operational departments as per approved requisitions
- Update inventory records in ERP/system and assist in stock counting and audits
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Storekeeper
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and segregation of items
- Follow company policies on hygiene, HACCP, and safety standards
- Assist in maintaining optimal stock levels and avoiding overstocking or stockouts
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics is an advantage)
- 1–3 years of experience in storekeeping, preferably in F&B or hospitality
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems or ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, FMC systems)
- Understanding of food safety standards and storage requirements
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading and warehouse activities
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inventory systems)
