    Leadership Qualifications
    The successful Assistant Superintendent will demonstrate excellence in educational leadership, having worked successfully in school settings to hone that ability. Of note, the successful candidate will excel in these areas:
    • Strong background in aligning student support systems: Primary leadership over the systems of student support, in particular with strong knowledge in special education, gifted education, and related services.
    • Strategic Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written abilities that can apply forward thinking leadership ability to engage multiple stakeholders in understanding initiatives and strategy.
    • Systems-Level Thinking: The analytical skill to evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements that strengthen district-wide alignment and efficiency.
    • Leadership Mentorship: A proven ability to not only lead but to grow leadership in others, fostering the development of our building and teacher leadership teams.
    Core Responsibilities
    The Assistant Superintendent provides executive-level support to the Superintendent and serves as the primary leader for the following areas:
    • Strategic Leadership: Assisting in strategic planning and policy development; serving as Chief School Administrator in the Superintendent's absence.
    • Student Support Coordination: Leading psychological, counseling, health, and social services while overseeing programs for vulnerable populations.
    • Professional Growth and Leadership Development: Designing district-wide professional development and overseeing the teacher induction program in addition to overseeing instructional leadership teams (i.e., building principals, teacher leaders).
    • Compliance & Accountability: Serving as the Title IX Coordinator and Open Records Officer to ensure legal and ethical transparency.
    Minimum Qualifications & Terms
    • Certification: Valid PA Certification for Superintendent Letter of Eligibility (1150).
    • Education: Master's Degree required; Doctorate in Educational Leadership preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of five years of successful administrative experience, preferably in central office roles.
    • Contract: This is a commissioned officer position with a 3 to 5-year contract.
    Selection and Application Process
    In accordance with Board Policy, the successful candidate will enter into a written agreement with the Board of School Directors, which will specify the term, compensation, and benefits. The Board will select the candidate based on their ability to meet the district's high standards for instructional leadership and organizational development.
