Water Department Superintendent

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Water Department Superintendent to lead and oversee all aspects of water infrastructure projects and operations. In this pivotal role, you will manage construction activities, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality water systems. Your leadership will drive project success from planning through execution, ensuring that all work meets regulatory requirements, budget expectations, and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction projects related to water infrastructure, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and distribution systems.
• Develop detailed project schedules using construction management.
• Oversee contract negotiations, review specifications, blueprints, schematics, and construction estimates to maintain project accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to stay within financial parameters.
• Conduct quality control inspections, safety audits, and ensure compliance with TCEQ regulations across all construction sites.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and city officials to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve issues promptly.
• Supervise field crews by providing guidance on construction site activities, reading blueprints, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain a focus on safety and quality.

Experience

• Proven management experience overseeing large-scale water infrastructure or civil construction projects.
• Extensive background in construction site supervision with a strong understanding of pipeline installation and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability in project scheduling.
• Familiarity with heavy civil construction and blueprint reading skills.
• Strong knowledge of TCEQ safety standards related to construction sites involving water systems.
• Experience managing contracts, budgets, and procurement processes within the construction industry.
• Skilled in supervising diverse teams while fostering a collaborative environment focused on safety and excellence.
• Hands-on experience with construction management.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
