Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees training, evaluation, work and vacation schedules of central billing office.
Oversees the operation of the internal system - creating, assigning and maintaining PCS queues.
Facilitates documentation and files of all meetings and operational decisions reached.
Ensures all requests for discounts meet department approval criteria and are entered appropriately.
Supervises billing office functions such as patient admission, interview process, collection of demographics, insurance information, payment arrangements and other data necessary for smooth functioning of the billing process.
Coordinates distribution of periodic statements, invoices and other documents directed to the collection of revenues from patient services; prepares standard and special reports as required.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are documented, current, pertinent and properly utilized by all subordinate personnel.
Assists in the monitoring of the outstanding account balances for the commercial insurance area.
Assists superiors in hiring and employee relations of central billing office personnel; obtains salary approvals from supervisors.
Provides backup for billing staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position does require training of new staff which requires being on campus
for training for thirty days.
This position does require to be on campus twice a month for processing of paperwork and mail.
